About Sharon

WELCOME

“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” ~ Wayne Dyer

As the pandemic recedes, this moment in time has been unlike any other, a surreal experience that has brought up feelings of anxiety, depression, and loss for many people who never experienced it before. For others it has exacerbated stress that was already elevated due to responsibilities around school/work, close relationships, and rearing kids. My philosophy is that even crisis brings great opportunity for growth. Knowing how to sort through difficult feelings and ground ourselves so we can make good choices is the most important thing we need, for our own wellbeing but also for our friends, our families, and most important of all our children.

Whether you’re struggling to manage small or tumultuous challenges, as an individual, a couple, or as a parent, I’m so glad you found your way here. I am a Gestalt therapist who incorporates a family systems lens. My hope is to equip you with tools and insights to move you toward your goals– using therapy approaches, such as, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gestalt and Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Hypnotherapy. My deep knowledge of addiction recovery, trauma, and K-16 education further informs my work. Most important of all, I offer you the curiosity and compassion that perhaps you lack. Socrates said, “Curiosity is the beginning of wisdom.” That is where our journey together begins.

My approach is gentle but direct and humor is mandatory! I enjoy working with adolescents, adults and couples. My clients tell me I’m easy to talk to and they feel deeply cared for. At the same time, I’m an action oriented therapist, and I challenge you to be honest with yourself so we can identify the parts of you that are underdeveloped as well as your strengths.

If you haven’t done online therapy before, I promise you it’s easy and effective. Please call me at 310.651.7412 or e-mail me at sharon@sharoncoulter.com. We can determine if I’m a good fit for you and if so set up an appointment at your convenience. At this time, I am seeing clients during the week from 10-5 p.m. My practice is online and I use a Hipaa compliant platform to ensure your privacy is secured.
