Loss

Losses can be felt in many areas of life: death of a loved one or a beloved pet, or loss of a significant relationship. Life transitions such as jobs requiring geographic moves, children moving away from home to college, new careers and retirement – all can also foster deep feelings of loss and uncertainty about the future.  It’s important for clients to receive validation and understanding of the emotions that losses provoke, some of which may be linked to the past and experiences from childhood.
