Gestalt Therapy

Gestalt therapy focuses on the here-and-now. In other words, it is an approach which underscores how the client makes contact with their environment in the present moment as opposed to revisiting the past. Client and therapist are equals. The objective of this approach is to support a client’s innate, organismic desire to be whole, energized, creative, and free. Gestalt therapy relies heavily on the interpersonal relationship between client and therapist that is developed and nurtured over the course of therapy. This technique is also classified as an experiential approach to psychotherapy because it involves actions that are both intentional and experimental to facilitate change.

I am certified in Gestalt Therapy and find it to be a highly effective therapeutic approach to which clients respond well. Gestalt Therapy is very much aligned with IFS (Internal Family Systems) which I also integrate in my work.
